Costa Rica is such an exuberant, gorgeous country. I still can’t believe I got to see snakes, monkeys, pelicans, dolphins, turtles, iguanas, tropical birds, bats, tarantulas… all in the wild. Most people have to shake off sand or flies while on the beach. I got to shake tiny little crabs.

Travelling to a whole other continent, to an unknown country all by myself for the first time was a bit scary at first, then it just turned into one of those addiction inducing kind of “worth its”. I’ll treasure that experience forever (or until the next time, which I hope happens very soon!).

“Dolphin kicking 🐬
Looking forward to my first swimming competition in... 10 years!? How I made it without joining a team again until now, who knows. And so my body now rightfully feels like it’s been beaten up and dragged around for two days after every 9pm session, and every day it’s like I could fall asleep on my patients’ lap. Still, I can’t wait to feel beaten and narcoleptic after the DHM weekend.
Swimming is challenging, healthy and fun. Aaaand you get to sweat like a pig without noticing. Plus, it’s common knowledge that, among sunsets and puppies, men’s 100m butterfly is without a doubt one of nature’s greatest gifts to human sight.”

Once again, a tribute to my love toward the ocean and its wildlife. Toward diversity, life and freedom.”

Incredibly lucky to have people like them in my life.

“Photoshop CS6, approx. 3 hours 🎨 Visual metaphor. That split second of consuming anticipation and chilling terror just before the accident. Opening your eyes with barely enough time for your brain to realize it's inevitable. Too late. Having no choice but to resign yourself to whatever happens before closing your eyes again as you wait for the blow...
... only unfortunately really stupid accidents don't look so epic, just really stupid.
But if you survive at least they serve as artistic inspiration.”

Playing around with textures and colors, trying to figure out the underwater-looking-up effect.
Also I counted and realized the ocean is featured in every 5th drawing that I make. I miss it when I'm away. This is a result of that blended with a certain tendency to draw mermaids.”
